Off Plus Camera, Poland’s first large-format festival devoted to Polish and foreign independent cinema was acclaimed as a great European event right after its debut in 2008.

The festival, held annually in April in Krakow, is one of the most important and, at the same time, the youngest film festivals in Poland. It is a review of the best in independent cinematography. Nearly 400 showings in every edition means hundreds of carefully selected films representing art cinema from around the world. The program every year includes the best pictures from the Sundance, Rotterdam, Berlin, Dubai and other festivals.

The most important element is the festival’sinternational dramatic competition Making Way, which holds twelve debuts or second films by young artists vying for the Krakow Film Award of $100,000.There will also be a Polish Feature Film Competition.

Apart from the competitions, the Off Plus Camera programme consists of the latest, critically acclaimed titles from the international festival circuit, most of which are presented as Polish premieres. The festival opens with Costa-Gavras’ ‘Le Capital’, screened in the presence of the director himself. The festival broadens his formula every year, offering new sections in its program. In this year’s edition there will be three new sections: Dark Stars Rising, Faces of Crisis and Black American Cinema.

6th edition of Off Plus Camera International Festival of Independent Cinema will take place between 12-21 April. The screenings of the Off Plus Camera festival are held in Kijow cinema.
